About Me

Toronto Free Library
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Toronto Free Library is an exhibition that explores the relationships between books and their owners, libraries and librarians, art spaces and social spaces, book readers and book lenders, by transforming an art gallery into a temporary library. Curated by Sarah Todd and Maiko Tanaka, the show features artists Swintak, Life of a Craphead, and Darren O'Donnell as Librarians-in-Residence. From ping pong, suspended storylines, to reading in the dark, the artists bring their performance-based art practices to the space of books offering their librarian services to the neighborhood. Taking place @ Toronto Free Gallery June 19 - July 26, 2008
